The Grizzlies

Inspiring Canadian film based on the true story of a group of Inuit-youth who changed their lives and their city by starting a LaCrosse team. First-time teacher Russ Sheppard moves to Kugluktuk, a small town in the frozen north with one of the highest suicide rates in North America. When the students show little interest in learning, Russ decides to introduce them to his favorite sport Lacrosse and sets up a team to give the students a glimmer of hope and something to live for. A remarkable, emotional and hopeful story and an ode to the resilience of young people who ultimately find their strength by facing their fears and vulnerabilities.
