Filmhub Noord
Filmhub Noord is a close collaboration between Kunst & Cultuur, Keunstwurk, Kunstkade, Forum Groningen, Film in Friesland and the International Film Festival Assen. Together, we are making every effort to ensure that film education in the north has a structural place in primary and secondary education.
Young viewers
Through swiping, scrolling and snapchatting, children and young people surround themselves with film all day long. It is the way they discover the world, express themselves and maintain their social contacts. At the same time, they lack the right words to properly interpret the images and give meaning to them. Together with its partners, Filmhub Noord teaches young viewers the language of film, allowing them to put themselves and the world into a broader perspective. We do this by watching, experiencing and, above all, doing.
The network
Filmhub Noord brings together organisations keen to embed film education within the education system. We enhance teachers’ expertise and inspire educators, for example through the Meetup: a meeting place for anyone involved in, or wishing to become involved in, film education. In addition, there is a ‘Proeftuin’ in every province. This is an equal partnership between the education sector, support organisations and providers. Here, through hands-on experience, we develop answers to questions raised by the education sector. The result? Inspiring, transferable teaching programmes.
