The Greenest Grass

In the atmospheric neighborhood of Möllan—Malmö’s vibrant artists' quarter—Sasja and Olivia’s marriage has hit a rut. He is bored to tears in his job as a health inspector, while her artistic dreams seem to be going nowhere. However, when Sasja begins an affair, something remarkable happens: it breathes new life into his marriage. Terrified that his wife will never forgive him once the truth comes out, Sasja concocts an absurd plan: he needs to get Olivia to cheat as well, thereby evening the score. In a desperate attempt to save his marriage, he tries to set her up, but the plan goes haywire, leading to unforeseen consequences. The comedy The Greenest Grass proves once again that a cornered man will do desperate things.

The Greenest Grass marks the directorial debut of Kim Sundbeck. It served as the opening film of the 2026 Bergman Week on the Swedish island of Fårö and was subsequently selected for Filmfest München. The lead role of Sasja is played by Vilhelm Blomgren, best known as Pelle in Midsommar (2019).
