The Most Beautiful Boy in The World

In 1970, Luchino Visconti travels through Europe looking for the perfect boy to embody perfect beauty in his film adaptation of Thomas Mann's Death in Venice. In Stockholm, he discovers Björn Andrésen from Sweden, a shy 15-year-old boy who instantly becomes internationally famous and spends a short but intense period of his turbulent youth between the Lido in Venice, London, the Cannes Film Festival and faraway Japan. Fifty years after the premiere of Death in Venice, Björn takes us on an extraordinary journey through personal memories, film history, magic and tragedy, in perhaps the last attempt to finally get his life back on track. A revealing documentary that highlights what it means to pay the price for beauty and fame.
