The Last Ones

The beautiful but barren tundra of Lapland is home to a mine in the deeply frozen soil. Miners have a hard time and regularly clash with their boss. Rupi is torn between loyalty to his father, a native reindeer herder, and the manipulative owner of the mine, who tries to expel the herder of his land in order to expand the mine. Meanwhile, several men in the settlement compete for the favour of the attractive Riita. The Last Ones unfolds as a 'Nordic Western' against a majestic landscape and is also a colourful indictment of exploitation and greed in capitalism.
