Ada (32) cares, but with sex. Her job as a social sexworker consists of physical love, care and dealing with limitations. It always goes quite well, but today it's a little shakier. Director Fabian Jansen's short film follows Ada during 24 hours. You see what the day did to her, what this work means to her and how it impacts her clients. When Ada visits her client and secret love Frank (38) on Thursday evening, it turns out to be the last time after a year of visits. At his request, he will finally be euthanized tomorrow. It is harder for her than expected, while in the meantime autistic Crijn and young Rita also demand her attention that day. When, on Friday evening, Frank's life is ended, Ada gives someone else the feeling of being alive again.

Random strangers and even the Prime Minister thank her and there is even deafening applause when all of Amsterdam stands on the balcony to clap for her. Bettie experiences newfound self-respect as she finally gets the appreciation she deserves. She dares to stand up for herself, both in her work and home situation. In this short film, we see that Bettie turns into a true heroine. She proudly carries it to the supermarket and enjoys the respectful looks of the people passing by. However, when the redemptive message comes that the measures will be removed, she notices that it is difficult to feel true happiness about this. Will everything go back to normal? A story of a long undervalued care worker who is finally put in the spotlight by filmmaker Carmen Maria from Meppel.

The young, northern makers of the short film Melanie show in a visually poetic way the complexity of a troubled mother-daughter relationship. The story is about 18-year-old Melanie who, when she moves from a youth centre back to her home in Assen and moves in with her mother, feels anything but welcome. After the director's award-winning film Anders, Reinout Hellenthal once again paints a strong and vulnerable portrait. Anders won at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival in the Best Live-Action Short Film category.
