Hope

After a successful international tour with her dance company, Anja (Andrea Bræin Hovig) returns home to celebrate Christmas. There, her family awaits her: partner and theater director Tomas (Stellan Skarsgård), their three biological children, and the three children from Tomas' first marriage. But just before Christmas, Anja and Tomas receive terrible news: Anja has a brain tumor and not long to live. Together they try to find a way to share the news with their families. In the time that follows, the relationship between Anja and Tomas is severely tested. Norwegian filmmaker Maria Sødahl made her debut in 2010 with the film Limbo, which won 5 Amanda's (Norwegian Oscars) at the time. Now, nine years later, she is back with the impressive and poignant drama Hope.
