Adult Supervision

Three fathers join their daughters' school camp to an idyllic island as volunteer chaperones, but what should have been a pleasant trip turns into a psychological power struggle. The presence of adults gets on the teenagers' nerves, and the three dads quickly lose grip on a situation that only escalates further and further. Suppressed memories surface, bringing various forms of bullying and abuse to light. Underlying tension mounts and it becomes unclear who is actually in charge. Some classes are simply terrible, but what if they're even more terrible than they initially seemed?

Adult Supervision premiered at the 21st Fantastic Fest in the United States, where it won Best Picture in the Next Wave competition. It is the directorial debut of writer and journalist Alex Schulman and next year's Swedish Oscar entry. In particular Gustaf Skarsgård (known from Vikings and a member of the Skarsgård acting family) and Fares Fares (The Wheel of Time, seen at NoFF last year in Eagles of the Republic) deliver powerhouse performances in this painful scenario full of sharply drawn characters, toxic peer pressure, and a powerful ending.
