A White, White Day

Spellbinding and darkly humorous Icelandic drama about a stoic grandfather whose emotional reserves are pushed to their limits. Former police chief Ingmundur has struggled ever since he lost his wife to a tragic accident two years earlier. Busying himself with the task of renovating a homestead in the remote Icelandic wilderness, he finds solace in time spent with his spirited young granddaughter, Salka. But when Ingmundur begins to suspect a local man of having had an affair with his late wife, his detective instincts kick in, fueling behaviour that becomes increasingly unpredictable. Famous Icelandic actor Ingvar Sigurdson has already won Best Actor awards in Cannes and Transylvania for his incredible role as Ingmundur in this drama about mourning, revenge and unconditional love. Now he is in Leeuwarden to present this film!
