The film follows my father Jan (73) and me, the filmmaker, who is home for a few days from England, where I’ve lived for several years. The family home where I grew up is falling apart. Cracks run zigzag through the walls, and the sagging walls lean beneath the thatched roof.

The house was built near the largest underground gas storage facility in Europe: the UGS Norg. This storage is being used more intensively, causing ground movement—the rising and sinking of the earth as gas is pumped in and out. Our old house cannot withstand this. More than 17,000 people in the region have reported damage, but the owners of the gas storage continue to deny any correlation.

And if there’s one thing my father cannot tolerate, it’s injustice. So he begins a bitter fight against the two oil giants managing the gas storage: Shell and ExxonMobil.
