Sick of Myself

In this dark comedy by Kristoffer Borgli, the modern day, self-destructive fixation on fame is scrutinized with a pinch of salt. Signe and her artistic friend Thomas are the annoyance you prefer to avoid at parties: two people who constantly want to put themselves in the spotlight with unnecessary anecdotes about their pretty average lives. When Thomas low-key breaks through with his art, an ego battle ensues between the two, with Signe discovering that victimhood is the ultimate way to gain attention, sympathy and overshadow Thomas. Her attempt at victimization is both cringeworthy and hilarious to watch.
