In this short fiction film, we meet Bram, a devout father and husband. He lives in the Biblebelt, in a godly village where everyone knows each other. But when Bram has a sexual encounter with a man in the woods, he notices afterwards that someone has seen him. There stands Tess, eight years old, and with her dog on a leash, she stares at him. That same evening, Bram is startled when Tess suddenly appears at the door, in front of his family, to pick up her sports bag. Bram then sets out to drive her to the sports club but secretly he has hidden intentions. He will have to cross his own moral boundaries to convince her not to tell anyone, or his whole life will fall apart. Luw is directed by Jos van Meerveld and produced by Pien Maat and the Frisian Marrit Greidanus.

Omschrijving

Mats is a student and lives with his two roommates. He is a non-acting paedophile, but he puts this part of himself away deeply. This works until one of his roommates brings his little half-brother to their dorm. At that moment Mats is confronted with his own feelings and can no longer avoid his sexuality. Will he be able to share his secret and be accepted for who he is or will he be condemned for something he didn't do? The taboo-breaking Schervengericht(Shrapnel Focused) is a short graduation film by director Hidde Muskee. The theme is shame and fear but acceptance and inclusiveness are also dealt with. With this, the Groningen-based Muskee wants to address a much-concealed topic, one that is burdened by many misconceptions.

Year: 2021

Omschrijving

With this short film, screenwriter and director Tom Bakker, born and raised in Leeuwarden, tells a story that is part of Dutch LGBT+ history. It is May 4, 1970, on the Dam square in Amsterdam, the national commemoration of Remembrance Day takes place. Two young men, Enno and Ad, want to make a statement against gay discrimination that day. In the moments before and after the statement their doubts, fears and convictions become clear. Bakker shows why representation and commemoration are so important and with AYOR (At Your Own Risk) he creates a powerful image: "I think it is important to tell a story about gay people who are not struggling with their identity, but who are fighting full of bravery, strength and pride to be their true selves."
