Echo

Iceland. Christmas time. While Iceland is getting ready for the holidays, a peculiar atmosphere is falling upon the country leaving people feeling both excited and concerned. In the middle of the countryside, an abandoned farm is burning. In a school, a children’s choir is singing Christmas carols. In a slaughterhouse, chicken are parading along a rail. In a museum, a woman is arguing on the phone. Through 56 scenes, Echo draws a portrait, both bitter and tender, of modern society on Iceland. Prior work of Rúnarsson include Volcano en Sparrows. He was also a guest at the Northern Film Festival before in 2011.
