Safe House

In the chaos of civil war in the Central African Republic, head security officer Linn leads a team of aid workers to a field hospital outside a huge refugee camp. While the team works tirelessly to save lives, a Muslim man hides in the building. 

He is being pursued by Christian militias and is in mortal danger; if they find him, they will kill him. The aid workers are tolerated by the militia, but not wholeheartedly - hiding this man could cost them their lives, and with it, the aid to the refugees in the camp. There is no time for hesitation; the doctors must leave the premises before dark. Tensions are running high and an explosive confrontation looms: will Linn choose the safety of her team or the principle that every single life counts?

Director Eirik Svensson's tightly directed and blood-curdling Safe House is based on the true events that took place over fifteen hours in a Médecins Sans Frontières hospital in Bangui on Christmas Eve 2013. Lindis Hurum is played by Kristine Kujath Thorp, who previously appeared at the Northern Film Festival in Ninja Baby (2021) and Sick of Myself (2022).
