Cinematig

Have you always wanted to delve into B movies and cult films? Too bad. Fancy some mindless entertainment? Then this is your chance. 

Third time's the charm, as your mother said yesterday. So it's good news that film collective Cinematig is presenting a full evening program of loud, crude, and bloody jokes at the Noordelijk Film Festival for the third time. Seven films for the price of one, with hilarious intermissions and a presentation on B movies. Expect double entendres, mediocre improvisation, fear of large groups, and technology that works better than the presenters. After this evening, you'll be completely at home with B movies and, at the next family weekend, you'll finally be able to join in the conversation with that crazy uncle who always stands just a little too close! 

Crash course in cult

During a short presentation, the gentlemen will talk about ‘Lightworkers and Night Owls’, the theme of the Northern Film Festival, and how that can be translated into the wonderful world of B movies. The word ‘light’ has never been mentioned in the same breath as Cinematig - whether we're talking about lux or kilos - but that doesn't stop the corpulent gentlemen from penning a weak description of their thematically structured presentation: Why is Chicks with Dicks 5 taken too lightly, what does the word ‘night’ mean to filmmaker Shiitake Suzuki, who died in a fall in the dark, and in which blind film character do the men of Cinematig see themselves most? In this crash course in cult, full of bizarre film clips and trivia, the viewer gets a new perspective on the theme ‘Light Intensity and Night Owls’.

Film program 

The Cinemand program will show (at least) five gems of short films. From bloody, terrifying action to hilarious horror. Whether the theme of the shorts is Scandinavian folklore or a Scandinavian furniture maker, there are plenty of boxes to tick for Noordelijk Film Festival-goers, making it seem certain that Cinematig also has a legitimate reason to present its program here. Still have a few brain cells left that are trying to hit each other in the dark void? Great, the feature of the evening will be a magnificent piece of film that is sure to stir your last neurons. Never before shown in the Netherlands (and probably for good reason), we are screening a cult classic in the making, full of bodily fluids and genital entertainment. Watching so many films is exhausting, of course. That's why the program includes several breaks filled with visually appealing ladies (and gentlemen), music, and cheesy commercials. Or you can take a breather outside the theater to cleanse the smelly aura of your neighbor from your chakras.

Beer service 

And during all this cinematic violence, you'll naturally be ready for something that numbs the senses (even more). Don't worry. Cinematig is bringing its patented ‘Beer Service’ back to the Noordelijk Film Festival. The idea is simple: raise your hand during the film and a Cinematig employee (in a pink turtleneck) will come ‘running’ to you, sighing, to press a cold beer into your hand. All you have to do is hand over a coupon. It's that easy! Is the above explanation too difficult because your intellect has long since departed for the land of Korsakov? About Cinematig itself 

Cinematig is a group of film enthusiasts who have been watching films together for years, sometimes even publicly. All tasks are handled by four sociable gentlemen in pink turtlenecks: from selecting the films, writing this text, designing the promotional material, manufacturing the renowned Cinematig film award (The B's Knees), to staffing the bar. After the successful editions of 2023 and 2024 at the NoFF and a heavy hibernation, diabetes, and an intimate evening with a raccoon, the gentlemen are now crawling out of their cave, heavy (breathing), to once again help the generous hosts of the NoFF with a fantastic evening full of B-movies.
