Festival locations
From 4 to 8 November 2026, we are welcoming film lovers from all over the world at familiar and new festival locations during the 46th edition of the Noordelijk Film Festival.
You will of course find us again at festival centre Stadsschouwburg De Harmonie, but you will also enjoy the exceptional atmosphere of the festival at other locations. Discover all the venues below, each offering a unique programme.
Stadsschouwburg De Harmonie
Stadsschouwburg De Harmonie has been the atmospheric festival heart of the Noordelijk Film Festival for many years. During the five-day festival, this venue has the largest selection of films screened in the Great Hall (Grote Zaal) and Middle Hall (Middenzaal). The theatre’s foyer will create a place for gathering, relaxing and recharging. In the evening, live artists are performing and dancing on stage here.

Slieker Film
We also return to Slieker Film this year. Cinema Slieker shows the latest arthouse films, documentaries, shorts and archive films all year round. The film theatre will be transformed into a festival venue especially for the Noordelijk Film Festival.

Pathé Leeuwarden
Part of the Noordelijk Film Festival programme will be screened at Pathé at Ruiterskwartier. Here you watch a varied selection of films with your feet up in a relaxing seat.
During the festival, the bar is open and you can enjoy a drink or snack between the films.

Neushoorn
Neushoorn is the stage for culture, education and talent development in Leeuwarden. The Arena at pop venue Neushoorn is every year the location of our Film & Food programme.

Het Ruim (Firda)
Het Ruim (Firda), formerly known as Toon, is the building located to the left of Stadsschouwburg De Harmonie. A part of the program is shown here, and several activities of the Noordelijk Film Festival take place.

Stable Hiddema State
In 2025, a special new location was added, which was only valid for 2025: Stable Hiddema State. The indoor arena of this beautiful horse boarding facility was the venue for Of Horses and Men, the debut film by Icelandic director Benedikt Erlingsson.
