The Ballad of a Great Disordered Heart (+ live muziek – Mooiedingenmakers presents)
Sat 11 Nov • 14.30u

Do you get filled with nostalgia when you think back to the nineties? Blistering hardcore, bald heads and great parties? Then you're in luck! Just get your aussie and your Air Max out of the attic and step into this two-hour time machine at the Northern Film Festival.
Hardcore Never Dies, Jim Taihuttu's latest film, tells the story of 17-year-old Michael, who dreams of a future as a pianist. Just when he is allowed to take the conservatory entrance exam, his brother Danny introduces him to the Rotterdam gabber scene - the pinnacle of house and ecstasy culture. The enormous appeal of the scene ensures that Michael soon has little eye for anything else, but when Danny's drug dealing reaches international proportions, their safety is not guaranteed.
Taihuttu (De Oost, Wolf and Rabat) made this Dutch drama with a razor-sharp eye for detail and manages to capture the zeitgeist of the 1990s fantastically.
