Sixteen-year-old Eveliina's easy-going life takes an unwanted turn when she sees her mother passionately kissing a woman. Although the 16-year-old teenager has liberal views and advocates her own freedom of thought and action, she does not think this applies to her own parents. She therefore tries at all costs to stop her mother's affair in an attempt to reunite her parents. When she feigns depression and mood swings because of this, the boundaries between made-up and real fears quickly begin to blur and Eveliina is no longer sure of the truth or even the point of her actions.

Finnish filmmaker Aleksi Salmenperä puts a fresh twist on a classic story with Bubble. In this humorous and confident coming-of-age film, young Stella Leppikorpi plays the convincing role of Eveliina, showing what it is like to grow up with family secrets.
