Accessibility
At the Noordelijk Film Festival, we pay attention to (communicating about) accessibility. On this page you will find more information about access to the festival with reduced mobility and about wheelchair spaces.
We are aware that the concept of accessibility enhales much more than just reduced mobility. Every year, we strive to further develop and make the Northern Film Festival more accessible to an increasingly broad group of visitors. We think it important to improve ourselves in areas such as accessibility and inclusivity. We aim to be tansparent about this, and we are aware that we still need to take steps to get there.
We collaborate with the Accessibility Working Group of the Municipality of Leeuwarden, Queer Factory, and Onze Familie in Leeuwarden.
At this moment, unfortunately, we do not yet have additional provisions for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or for the visually impaired.
We are learning and open to questions, suggestions, and feedback. Please contact our inclusion & diversity coordinator, Bernou Ozinga, via info@noordelijkfilmfestival.nl.
Wheelchair spaces and access with reduced mobility
A number of wheelchair spaces are available for each festival venue or hall. Reserve a wheelchair space by emailing tickets@noordelijkfilmfestival.nl. We would like to hear as early as possible that you want to reserve a wheelchair space. Please also let us know in your mail if you are coming with someone, and we will try to take this into account in the placement. If you’ve emailed us, we’ll make sure a Noordelijk Film Festival staff member is on hand to escort you to the lift and wheelchair space in the auditorium where necessary. On arrival at the festival site, report to the information desk or box office.
