PoëCinema

With POËCINEMA we present three projects in which Frisian poetry and cinema come together.  Picture Poems is a project by Metafoor Media and Tresoar. Frisian poems (classics and new work) are depicted by young film makers. By now, 14 Picture Poems have been made. We show a selection of these and two new Picture Poems will have their premiere. The Poet of Fryslân Nyk de Vries has filmed several poems in the past two years. He looks back in a live performance with poetry and film. The Frisian Film & Audio Archive (FFAA) has taken a dive into their own archive for Frisian poets who have ventured to film their poetry in recent decades. Syds Wiersma, coordinator of the FFAA, presents a selection of beautiful, exciting, intriguing, poetic 'picture poems' from the last twenty years.
