Panels Memmetaal: investeren in regionale filmcultuur

Language: EN

How far can regional film initiatives really go if the foundations for the long term have not been laid? In this session, funding institutions, investors and filmmakers will discuss what is, and will continue to be, necessary to enable individual initiatives to grow into a rock-solid infrastructure. Particularly in times of political instability and growing pressure on the cultural sector, it remains crucial to keep our sights set on the horizon and to actually be able to pave the way towards it.

We’ll begin with the Frysk Filmfûns, which is proud to present the new cohort of Frisian film projects and creators receiving financial support from the fund. This will be followed by the launch of the very first Groningen Film Fund, a promising new step in the Northern Netherlands’ infrastructure for the audiovisual sector.

We will then hold an open forum, or ‘fishbowl’, to exchange insights, experiences and revolutionary ideas around four propositions concerning our regional infrastructures. Guests from both the Netherlands and abroad will be present to explain their initiatives. Who knows, perhaps together we’ll find the answers to all our questions before lunch!

These panels are supported by the Frysk Film Fûns, Filmpact Noord and New Noardic Wave.
