Skinny Love

Skinny Love
The Icelandic comedy Skinny Love offers a humorous look at the life of bisexual Emilý, a 25-year-old content creator. During the day, she works in a record shop, but secretly she also has a growing OnlyFans account, which her mother manages. Emilý enjoys the freedom and space that a long-distance relationship with Polish researcher Katinka offers her, but when Katinka says she wants to move to Iceland to make their open relationship exclusive, Emilý's relaxed life is turned upside down.
She has to face her fear of the unknown, while keeping her head above water financially. In addition, she also wants to be there for her teenage colleague, whose ideas, according to Emilý, are not only positively influenced by his online behaviour. Skinny Love is a satirical but light-hearted exploration of sexuality, critically yet empathetically highlighting themes such as polyamory, online sex and the importance of honest communication.
Skinny Love premiered in Iceland in April, after which it was screened at the Frameline Film Festival in San Francisco and the 40th edition of the Lovers Film Festival in Turin, the oldest LGBTQ+ film festival in Europe. Director Sigurður Anton wrote and edited the film himself.
