Panel: Gen Z & the Future of Film

Gen Z is growing up with TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Netflix. They expect diversity, authenticity, immediate availability, and, increasingly, interaction. What does that mean for the way we tell stories, make films, and distribute them? In this panel, we explore how the film industry can remain relevant in a world full of fast-paced stimuli and social engagement. What does Gen Z demand from creators and platforms? What new forms of storytelling are emerging? And what does that say about the deeper needs of this generation?

A number of Creative Business students from NHL Stenden with a passion for film were interviewed on topics such as: fragmentation and short versus long content, streaming culture and on-demand habits, identity, inclusivity and representation, and telling new stories. During the panel talk, excerpts from the interviews will be shown, and moderators Johan and Anna will discuss the students' opinions and visions with the panel.
