Fifteen years ago, the ocean vanished from the shores of the German town of Windholm, taking the village children with it. Physicist Micha is determined to uncover the truth behind this inexplicable event, but his research grant is denied. Undeterred, he embarks on a journey to the village with Jana, a former colleague and the daughter of the university’s rector. As Micha clings to scientific explanations, the village’s haunting past begins to pull him deeper into its mysterious web. Jana, however, believes that their return to Windholm is no coincidence and that the past is about to reveal a deeper truth.
