The North

Two old friends are hiking 600 kilometers through the Scottish highlands in order to reconnect with each other, nature, and parts of themselves they lost.

The North is director Bart Schrijver’s second hiking film, following Human Nature (2022). Schrijver made sure to also complete the hike himself before shooting the film, in which the main parts of Lluis and Chris are played by Carles Pulido and Leeuwarder Bart Harder. The film was independently produced before it was aquired for a theatrical release. Now, the film has not only reached the status of 'Golden Film' (100.000 visitors) but has been shortlisted for the European Film Awards.  

On Saturday morning (Plugzaal Post-Plaza, 10:00-13:00) Bart Schrijver will host an extensive case study in which he and Bart Harder will tell us all about the realisation of their film.

Following the screening on Saturday evening (Slieker Film), Bart Schrijver will be present for a discussion.
