Poison

Poison, based on the successful play Gif by Lot Vekemans, tells the story of a man and a woman who meet again in a cemetery years after their divorce. The occasion for their meeting is the reburial of their child, as poison has been found in the soil. During the few hours they spend together, it becomes clear how seriously the great loss has poisoned their own lives. Is it possible for them to move on with their life?

The camera does not leave their side, and this intense focus demands a lot from the two actors. Fortunately, director Désirée Noschbusch, who herself boasts years of experience as an actress, has two big names in the house with Tim Roth and Trine Dyrholm. Roth and Dyrholm play to the square inch here, which is nothing less than fascinating to watch.
