Love

In Love, we follow doctor Marianne and nurse Tor, who bump into each other one evening on the ferry. Marianne has just been on a blind date and is on her way home, while Tor is on the ferry looking for a man to spend the night with. 

The two strike up a conversation and Marianne listens with intrigue to Tor's experiences with casual intimacy, wondering if such a relationship without expectations might be something for her too. Their exchange and Tor's encounter with a man he is beginning to care for form the heart of a tender film that does not judge, but invites the viewer with warm humanity to reconsider their own ideas about love.

Films by director-writer Dag Johan Haugerud have previously been shown at the Noordelijk Film Festival, including Barn (2019) and the film Sex (2024), which was screened at the festival last year. Sex was the first film in Haugerud's “Oslo trilogy”, each part of which stands on its own, so you can watch the films in any order. Love (Kjærlighet) was released in cinemas last summer and Drømmer (Dreams), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in February, will be released in November. The Noordelijk Film Festival has a wonderful scoop: we are the only festival in the Netherlands to screen the complete trilogy Sex, Love and Drømmer.
