It’s Not My Film

After a long period of love, Polish couple Wanda and Janek have grown tired of each other. Their relationship, which now seems to consist mainly of boredom and daily routine, is irrevocably on the rocks. Nevertheless, the couple decides to make one last attempt: they embark on a winter walking tour along the Polish Baltic coast. With strict rules, this gruelling journey, which would be a challenge even for the most stable relationship, becomes the ultimate test of their love. It's all or nothing: giving up means breaking up. 

It's Not My Film is a sharp drama-comedy about two people in extraordinary circumstances who seem incompatible on every front. It is also a surprisingly light-hearted story which, thanks in part to brief flashbacks to their shared past, emphasises how courageous it is to try to repair a relationship in a throwaway society where all may not yet be lost.

It’s Not My Film is the feature film debut of director Maria Zbąska and won the Polish Film Award in the Discovery of the Year category last March. The film has already been screened at film festivals across Europe, including in Thessaloniki, Vilnius and Wrocław. The screening at the Northern Film Festival is also the Dutch premiere.
