Heavier Trip – Harder, Faster, Louder

In Heavier Trip, we follow Impaled Rektum, a Finnish metal band that is behind bars in Norway. When the bassist's father's slaughterhouse is threatened with demolition, the band decides to do everything it can to raise money. The solution? A performance at the legendary German metal festival Wacken Open Air. 

But first, the band has to escape and make it to the festival. A chaotic road trip through Northern Europe ensues, during which the band members come face to face with an older metal band that has sold out its principles, a ruthless record executive, and the prison guard who is constantly on their heels. As the tension mounts and the band pulls out all the stops to play at Wacken, the biggest challenge turns out to be keeping the band together.

This hilarious sequel to Heavy Trip (2018), winner of the Audience Award at the 39th edition of the Northern Film Festival, also comes from directing duo Jukka Vidgren and Juuso Laatio. Samuli Jaskio, who plays guitarist Lotvonen, previously appeared in The Blind Man Who Did Not Want to See Titanic (2021).
