Raghu is an insignificant journalist at a radical online media company in language-divided Belgaum, a town in southern India. Despite the low salary, he remains determined to pursue his goal, which is evident in the seditious articles he publishes about his opponents. Although objective news reports make him doubt himself, he suppresses this inner struggle by becoming even more fanatical. Besides the devastating impact of these guiding reports, Raghu's radicalisation also affects his personal life. The friendship with his two close friends is strained and Raghu recognises what he risks losing.

This thoughtful and empathetic drama by director Harshad Nalawade shines light on constructive radicalisation. Small problems pile up and create the walls between which the main character gets stuck. Thus, Follower offers a rare insight into the frustrating feeling of alienation in your own environment, and what it can lead to.
