Filmconcert: The Most Dangerous Game
Experience sheer suspense in The Most Dangerous Game, the adventure classic from 1932 that laid the foundation for the survival film genre. When hunter Bob Rainsford (Joel McCrea) is the lone survivor of a shipwreck, he finds himself stranded on a mysterious island. But his nightmare has only just begun: the evil Count Zaroff hunts castaways for his own amusement. Together with another shipwreck survivor called Eve (Fay Wray, who would go on to star in King Kong the next year), Bob flees into the jungle, using only their ingenuity as a weapon in the deadly chase.
At the Northern Film Festival, this iconic film by Irving Pichel and Ernest B. Schoedsack will be brought back to life with a spectacular live score by the James Whale Orchestra. Following their successful festival screening of Hitchcock's Blackmail in 2023, the orchestra now returns, this time with the Amsterdam Brass Quartet. Max Steiner's original score gets a fresh, exciting reinterpretation that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Be sure not to miss this unique screening!
