The Northern Film Festival is organized throughout the year by a small team, which is enlarged annually by various familiar faces and new team members in the last months prior to the festival.

Jacqueline Schrijver is director of Film in Friesland, the foundation that encompasses the Northern Film Festival, Slieker Film (film theatre) and the Frisian Film Archive.
Fredau Buwalda has an MA in Arts, Culture & Media specialized in Film Studies at the University of Groningen. She started at Film in Friesland in 2009 as a trainee for the Northern Film Festival. In 2010 she became programmer of Filmhuis Leeuwarden (now film theatre Slieker Film) and worked with the festival team as well every year. In 2014 she took over from predecessor Rik Vermeulen as programmer and artistic director of the Northern Film Festival.
Margret Havinga has been involved with the Northern Film Festival since 2014 from her own company Regelpunt as production manager.
Loes Brinkman started as a trainee at the film festival and Slieker Film in 2017, coming from the Theater, Film and Television Studies in Utrecht and can’t be missed from the festival team anymore. In 2018 she was coordinator of the New Generation programme in the Cultural Capital year Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018. In addition to her work for Slieker Film, she is now responsible for the Filmkick Academy, Noorderkroon and education at the Northern Film Festival.
Blauwe Zone (formerly MAS Outreach) is the company responsible for marketing, communication and designs for the Northern Film Festival this year. Henry de Boer is general manager of Blauwe Zone and is part of the team on behalf of the company.
