Nothern Film Festival joins international film network Eye on Films
The Nothern Film Festival, in Leeuwarden (The Netherlands), is the first and only Dutch film festival to join Eye on Films. Eye on Films is an international network of film professionals promoting the distribution of a selection of first feature films. The network consists of 70 international partners in total, of which 39 film festivals. As of today The Nothern Film Festival is Associate Partner of Eye on Films.

Moreover, the Nothern Film Festival is now part of a network of film professionals consisting of prominent festivals and distributors worldwide, adding to the festival’s professionalization and market position.”
The Nothern Film Festival, held from 9th till 13th November, has selected three films from the Eye on Films catalogue. THE MOLE by Rafael Lewandowski (Poland, France, 2011) in which the past reappears and sheds new light on a father son relationship. OLIVER SHERMAN by Ryan Redford (Canada, 2010) about a veteran who visits the home of the fellow soldier who saved his life back in the war and POLICEMAN by Nadav Lapid (Israel, 2011) depicting the psychological struggle of a policeman amongst young and passionate revolutionary extremists.

The Nothern Film Festival focuses on recent European cinema, with the Interregional Competition as its beating heart. This competition is a cinematographic exploration and representation of Europe’s regions in time, space and spirit, with a cash prize of € 10,000 for the winning film. A second section in the festival’s main programme is Wij Noorderlingen (Nordic me, Nordic you), which presents the best of new Northern European cinema. This year the Nothern Film Festival will include special focuses on India (Eye on India) and Greece (Greek Crisis).
The 33rd edition of the Nothern Film Festival takes place from Wednesday 9th till Sunday 13th of November in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. With over 25.000 visitors, the Nothern Film Festival is the biggest regional film festival in The Netherlands.
